This Privacy Policy explains what information Perko(“Perko,” “we,” “us”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Perko you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

• Account information — the username, display name, and email address you provide when you sign up (or the name, email, and account identifier from Google if you sign in with Google).
• Content you create — the referral codes, links, descriptions, circles, comments, and votes you add.
• Usage data— activity such as clicks, code confirmations, and points, used to operate features like leaderboards and “confirmed working” status.
• Technical data — your IP address and basic device or browser information, used to keep accounts secure and prevent abuse.

How we use your information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the service.
• To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
• To send transactional email you request or expect, such as email confirmation, password resets, and notifications you opt into.
• To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, spam, or abuse.

Cookies

We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in. We also use privacy-conscious analytics to understand how the service is used and to improve it. You can block cookies in your browser, though the service may not work correctly without the session cookie.

Service providers

We share data only with the vendors that help us run Perko, and only as needed to provide the service: hosting and analytics (Vercel), our database (Neon), email delivery (Resend), sign-in with Google (Google), product analytics (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity), and automated company categorization (Anthropic). We do not sell your personal information.

What other users see

Other members see only the username and display name you choose — never your email address. Referral codes you mark public are visible to anyone; private codes are visible only within the circles you place them in.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time; doing so removes your profile and the content associated with it. You may also contact us to request access to or deletion of your data.

Security

We use industry-standard measures such as encryption in transit (HTTPS) and hashed passwords to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and to respond promptly to issues. To report a vulnerability, see our security policy.

Children

Perko is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us through our contact form.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above.
